Assignment:
Choose a community organization to hypothetically rebrand and create new campaign elements for. Determine their needs and design a new visual identity system.
Process:
The community organization I chose to create a rebrand for was Artbeat Studio. They are a Winnipeg based and founded non-profit arts organization focusing on people that deal with mental illness, established in 2004. They provide residencies, community programming, gallery space, and studio space. They help to empower and aid in the recovery of individuals dealing with mental illness through art.
I decided to do a logo/brand/identity refresh, and website redesign for Artbeat Studio. The first steps were to do some sketches, create a moodboard, design a new logo, then a branding kit and new visual elements. The new logo is bold and refreshing, can be used in different variations depending on the application, and speaks to what Artbeat does. The new branding is flexible and playful, while still grounding Artbeat in the professional space.
The next step was to design a website taking Artbeat’s current website content, and plug it into the new brand identity. The new website encapsulates all new brand elements, and applies it to both desktop and mobile. It develops hierarchy for all the information and organizes it in a way that helps you find what you’re looking for faster. It creates a welcoming and engaging digital environment.
Product
Artbeat Studio’s new visual identity and website speaks to the cause while maintaining unique and consistent branding. The new logo and visual elements stand out and bring a warm and welcoming vibe to the organization. The new website is responsive and easy to navigate.
